Friday 6 August 2010

The 5th Rye Summer Classic Series continues next Friday evening (13th August) with with the first of our two 5K races. There are still places available and you can still enter either online at www.runnersworld.co.uk/events or at the UKA race portal at www.runbritain.com right up until 4.30 pm next Friday. Alternatively you can still enter by post. If you'd like an entry form, simply reply to this email and we'll send one by return.

We will also, of course, be taking entries on the night.

A reminder of the details:

Date: Friday August 13th
Event: The 5th Rye Summer Classic Series 5K Race
Location: Rye Sailing Club, Rye Harbour, East Sussex.

The Sailing Club is located in Rye Harbour which is about 2 miles from the town centre of Rye – take the signposted turning just outside the town on the A259 Rye-Winchelsea Road.

Time: 7.00 pm:
Terrain: Flat road

Those that have already entered will receive their race information packs and numbers any time now. Can we remind you that because we are using chip timing you need to allow a little extra time when you arrive next week so that you can park and then, at Race HQ, enter the race, obtain your timing chip, attach it to your shoe and then make your way to the start.

The third and final race in the series - again over 5K - takes place on Friday September 10th.

Just before then we are staging the first Charing 10K in aid of Charing School on Saturday September 4th. We have a health entry for this already and it looks set to be a great event. The route follows country lanes for the outward stretch before returning to Charing along the Pilgrims Way. Entries available online at Runners World or Run Britain or you can get an entry form from us by email or by visiting our website www.nice-work.org.uk

Later in the year we have our two Christmas races at Fowlmead and Ashburnham Place plus our New Year's Day morning 10K at Scotney Castle which already has a double figure entry!

Our overseas events this year still have some availability. Our trip to the Somme next month is for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K, whilst our Amsterdam trip is yet again proving to be our most popular. Just about 10 places remain for this October trip for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K races. And there is still time to join our party to the Himalayas in October for the 100 Mile Stage Race. We're also well on our way to knowing our 2011 programme overseas which will feature visits to Iceland and Dublin, for the Half Marathon.

If you require more information on any of our events, drop us an email at info@nice-work.org.uk, visit www.nice-work.org.uk or call 01797 230999.
