Tillingham Valley Rockabilly Races
Thank you to all those who joined us yesterday in typical Bank Holiday weekend weather for the Tillingham Valley Rockabilly Races. There is something slightly surreal about running through the valley to the strains of some old Johnny Cash or Gene Vincent song – and I suppose you just had to be there to understand that it does work! We are grateful to those runners who helped clear the valley of a decent proportion of its sheep pooh.
It’s such a shame that the weather kept numbers down – but we’ll persevere with an event that is much more about fun than about performance! If you do have any comments to make – good or bad – we’re always keen to listen and look to improve.
Congratulations to those who won prizes - especially our race winners Mark Penny and Lynn Hayes and well done too to those who won their categories.
The results can now be found on the Nice Work website and on the Sussex Races website.
Our next event is the Rye Summer Classic Series which kicks off on Friday 16th July with a 10K. The series is now in its 5th year and continues to grow in popularity. We are also organising the Charing 10K in September and you can enter any of these races online via the Runners World website – or ask us for an entry form.
Once again, thank you for your support yesterday.
Kind regards
Martin Burke, Race Director
