With the weather now, hopefully, set fair and the evenings staying light, we’ve a great summer of races lined up for you to choose from.
Next month, on July 4th, we'll once again be assisting Wadhurst Runners with entry management and chip timing for the ever popular Bewl 15. This Sussex Grand Prix event is run over a challenging, multi-terrain course of a full 15 miles around Bewl Water. A great race package is on offer including a goody bag, a unique medal, free sports drinks and cakes.
The 5th running of the Rye Summer Classic Series begins next month. This popular summer Friday night series goes from strength to strength and the first race in the series – the 10K – will be on Friday 16th July. Entries are available for each individual race – or you can save yourself a few pounds with a series entry.
Towards the end of the summer we have a new race - the Charing 10K - taking place on Saturday September 4th at 10.30 in the village of Charing off the A20 between Maidstone and Ashford. The race starts and finishes at Charing School to whom all race profits will be donated.
You now have a choice on online entry options for all of these races. As usual you can enter via Runners World at Runners World Online entries are also available via the UKA portal. You can also request a postal entry form by emailing us at info@nice-work.org.uk, visiting our website or calling 01797 230999.
For runners in the Hastings/Rye/Ashford area we’ll also be staging our annual Midsummer-ish Hash-ish race at the Royal Oak in Rye Foreign with live music and barbecue on Thursday June 24th. This ‘strictly for fun’ event is open to all and we are now taking entries. If you are thinking of joining us we’d appreciate you letting us know so that we can make the catering arrangements. So, if you could let us know by emailing us at info@nice-work.org.uk we’d be grateful.
We finish off our year of races with a clutch of events in November and December. In November we have the 6th Beckley 10K and then, in December our two festive races the 5th Kent Christmas Cracker and the 5th Christmas Pudding Dash. Don’t forget too our brand new New Year’s Day race – the Scotney Castle New Year’s Day 10K – to be held, naturally, on January 1st.
More details of all these races are available on the Nice Work website or by checking out the Runners World website
We've something for everybody this summer - so we look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
Kind regards
Martin and Cathy Burke
